A Sweet & Spiced Coconut 🥥

One morning in the Fall of 2020, Casey Joy was on her usual run in the park, when she spotted a little kitten jumping around near the pond, covered in fleas & chasing bugs. Being a cat lover, she instinctively knew she had to do something. After multiple failed attempts at trying to catch the feral kitten by hand, she reached out to the local TNR group for assistance.

The group told her where she could buy a trap & sent her an instructional video. She was then able to catch the kitten & also successfully trap the momma cat to bring her in to be spayed at the local clinic. The group also sent her educational material on how to socialize feral kittens in enclosed spaces- in this case her bathroom. Over a little time, the kitten became very loving. She kept her and named her Coconut.

Since that experience, she has fostered many kittens born outside & has been successful in placing them for adoption. She has continued to do TNR wherever she has lived to not only stop kittens from being born on the streets, but to improve the lives for the cats living on them. Community cats are a community issue; this means everyone can do something to help them.
